The Chakra Project brings a ground-up Linux distribution, a free software showcase project created by a bunch of people who like the KISS principles, the elegance of the Plasma Desktop and a special repository to support well known Gtk applications.

Simply put, we are doing a lot of stuff:



Our main goal is provide a fast, user-friendly and extremely powerful Live ISO and/or Linux distribution specially made for the award winning KDE Software Compilation and the beautiful Plasma desktop.

Chakra is currently under heavy and active development, it features a graphical installer, automatic hardware configuration, and of course some more tools and extras.

With a new concept of half-rolling releases, freshly cooked packages and bundles, our graphical tools and a small but strong and diverse community, this is the computing environment you may have been waiting for. It is especially made for people who really want to learn something about Linux and/or don't want to deal with administrative overhead to enjoy the KDE Software Compilation.
